Job Summary:

The Patient Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for scheduling patients for PT/OT and SLP. Assists in the performance of Rehab office duties involving the answering of clinic phones, registration of outpatients, referral resources for patient assistance and familiarity with the functions, practices, and policies of the department.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:

·         Schedules patients for Rehab Services.

·         Assists in the performance of office duties involving the answering of clinic phones, registration of outpatients, referral resources for patient assistance, and familiarity with the functions, practices, and policies of the department of Rehabilitation.

·         Assists licensed therapy staff and students in certain aspects of treatment in the acute care and outpatient adult setting.

·         Orders linen, disinfects all therapy equipment, and tracks useable supplies.

·         Monitors patients in the gym.

·         Escorts and/or transports patients to treatment rooms or other areas as directed in a safe and timely manner.

·         Sets-up and cleans treatment areas before and after patient use.

·         Takes and records vital signs for the therapists.

Decision Making Requirement:

This position is responsible for assisting the licensed therapy staff and students in certain aspects of treatment in the acute care and outpatient adult setting.

Communication:

This position will speak regularly with patients, answering the phones, and taking referrals.



Qualifications

 

Required Education / Experience:

·         High school diploma required.

·         Bachelors Degree in Health or related program is preferred. 

·         Two (2) years’ experience in a hospital setting or clinic is preferred.

·         Experience involving direct interaction with the public is preferred.

Required Certification / Licenses:

·         Must be able to obtain and maintain current BLS certification.

·         Bilingual is preferred.
