UW MEDICINE’S PATIENT ACCOUNTS AND SUPPORT SERVICES has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE (PAR) LEAD

WORK SCHEDULE


  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Day Shift, 100% Remote

  • PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the establishment of standards, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with development and maintenance of billing and follow up reference documents
  • Coordinate with supervisor in assigning, reviewing and monitoring quality and timeliness of work and identifying training needs of Patient Account Representatives
  • Assist in orienting and training new staff and retraining current staff
  • Analyze and review appeals and provide feedback to Patient Account Representatives
  • Assist Patient Account Representatives with obtaining information necessary to obtain retroactive authorizations including letters of medical necessity
  • Participate in special projects
  • Serve as a Super User for system upgrades and changes
  • Understand and interpret complex requirements and be able to prioritize and manage updates from multiple sponsors, both federal and non-federal
  • Work collaboratively with other UW Medicine Departments

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in patient accounting, customer service or a related office environment.
  • OR equivalent education/experience
