Position Announcement

Join our team and support young adults with autism achieve their goals! The Passages Program provides services and supports to help Autistic adults develop skills and build friendships that lead to fulfilling lives and a sense of belonging in our community. This part-time position supports our Personal Empowerment Program and requires the ability to plan and carry out a variety of classroom-type activities and social opportunities focused on facilitating positive relationships and building skills to achieve individual goals. Schedule includes multiple afternoons and evenings per week. Experience supporting young adults with autism is required. 


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assists the Passages Program Director and support staff to prepare, set up and facilitate classes/activities in the Personal Empowerment Program. Responsible to provide support to students, collaborate with Passages team members, and interact with parents/guardians (when appropriate).
  • Attends weekly Passages Team meeting and reports on areas of responsibility.
  • Works with the Passages team to coordinate with relevant UVU departments, community partners, program participants, and their families.
  • Coordinates with Passages team and MNCA leadership to address any emergent issues that may arise.


Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 6 months experience or in process of completing degree in related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree or above in a related field. Experience working with autistic adults.


Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
  • Skill in typing and computer proficiency in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to present to small and large groups. 
  • Ability to represent the Passages programs in a professional and courteous manner. 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction will little supervision. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with people from various backgrounds.
