Research will be focused on stellar rotation and angular momentum evolution of low-mass stars. The student is expected to work with Dr. Gregory Feiden on optimizing a simplified computational model of stellar angular momentum evolution to match the rotation periods of stars observed in open and globular clusters. The goal is to explore how the temporal growth and decay of stellar convection zones is related to a period of observed stalling in stellar spin-down.
