HAMILTON LUGAR SCHOOL (BL-SGIS-IUBLA)

The Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies (HLS) communications team manages all strategic marketing and communications to support the Office of the Dean, the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, and all School units in promoting events and programming.

 

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Works together with another intern and Hamilton Lugar School director of communications, develop engaging content for Hamilton Lugar social media, primarily Instagram, to showcase the student experience. 
  • Plans and promotes callouts for students and clubs to collaborate in content creation for Instagram Reels, highlighting experiences unique to Hamilton Lugar School students. 
  • Manages all aspects of Instagram Reel creation: planning, collaboration with students, video and audio production, review, and scheduling.
  • Manages Hamilton Lugar Instagram schedule, ensuring appropriate weekly mix of promotional messages and high-quality, engaging content. 
  • Collaborates with departments and centers to create event promotional reels, as directed by Hamilton Lugar School director of communications. 
  • Daily posting to Instagram story to promote events of centers and departments within Hamilton Lugar School.    
  • Ensures social media content aligns with IU brand standards and includes any promotional campaign graphics from Hamilton Lugar School communications team.
  • Depending on skills, may assist with graphic design, photography, videography, or writing.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University

Bloomington, Indiana

$13.00 per hour

Up to 10 hours per week.

Start date is flexible and can be negotiated based on student's  availability to start  in summer or fall.  Start date can be as early as May 6, 2024.
