Part-time Research Technician

Brandeis University is delighted to announce the position of Research Technician. The technician will conduct research part-time on the mammalian colorectal cancer protein APC and its roles in directed cell migration and cell-cell adhesion under the direct supervision of Prof. Goode and Dr. Liyuan Xu (a postdoc in the Goode lab). Culture mammalian cell lines, fix cells for antibody staining and fluorescence microscopy, help with quantitative image analysis, and prepare protein samples from cells for western blotting.

This is a part time position, 10 hours a week.

Job responsibilities include maintaining mammalian cell cultures, preparing protein and DNA samples, and performing some PCR analysis and western blots under the direct supervision of Prof. Bruce Goode and Dr. Liyuan Xu.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree

Requires good vision (or corrected vision), as well as reasonable hand to eye coordination for pipetting and handling biological apparati. Requires computer skills, e.g., familiarity with basic programs used in research (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
