JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Public Health Sciences student (MPH, DrPH, and other PHS graduate programs) to support the planning and implementation of the Penn State Global Health Exchange Program (GHEP). Applicants must be in good standing in their academic program. 

Ideal candidates will have exceptional organization and time management skills and must be able problem solve with minimal supervision while also being able to work successfully in a team environment. Working with Julie Lentes, Senior Instructor of Public Health Sciences, this position will serve as a resource and guide for the incoming international students and must work cooperatively and independently to accomplish tasks, respond to questions from students in a professional manner, and encourage students to establish meaningful connections. This position will be 10 hours/week from February through the end of June.  

The typical work for the position is to coordinate the logistics of the program in the spring semester and assist program faculty with events planned for students, communicating with students through online chat to answer questions, and attending assigned program lectures and activities planned during the workday in the summer. Additional responsibilities include helping develop and collect student evaluations and weekly Zoom check-in meetings with supervisor.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
