Description

NYU Tel Aviv is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a course on Physical Chemistry I, under the sponsorship of New York University's Tandon School of Engineering. The course would be taught in the Spring 2023 semester (January 24 - May 16, 2023). 

Physical Chemistry I provides a molecular approach to physical chemistry. The course covers quantum mechanics and its applications to atomic and molecular structure and to molecular spectroscopy. An introduction to statistical thermodynamics is also covered. 

Upon successful completion of this course, students should have gained the following core competencies:

  • an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics and science

  • an ability to analyze and interpret data

  • an ability to communicate effectively

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field, as well as experience teaching. A strong record of research is also preferred though not required. Candidates who have experience in teaching within an American or international university system to a diverse English speaking undergraduate student body are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those who have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience teaching at the university level in English. Applicants are required to have a legal right to work in Israel.
