Posting Summary | Successful applicants will develop and instruct undergraduate courses delivered in prison settings on a wide variety of topics under the Justice Studies program. This includes, but is not limited to: Inequality; Pursuit of Justice; Reducing Local Crime; Ethical and Philosophical Foundations; Comparative CJ Systems; Gender, Crime, and Justice; Violent Crime; Race and Crime; White Collar Crime; Crime in Different Cultures; Mass Incarceration; Miscarriages of Justice; Research Methods and Statistics/Data Analysis. Instructors shall report to the Director of NJ-STEP, attend an orientation and required correctional training, prepare and submit course syllabi, meet and provide pedagogically appropriate instruction during assigned class times, join a bi-monthly instructor meeting, provide timely student feedback, respond to student messages, and adhere to grade submission policies and deadlines. In classes that have a research focus, instructors shall follow appropriate Institutional Review Board policies and procedures to ensure the protection of human subjects. |

Minimum Education and Experience | Masters or Juris Doctorate Required. Doctorate preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach at university level. Applicants with comparable degrees from accredited institutions may also be considered. Prior teaching experience is also preferred. |
