The Divinity School at the University of Chicago invites applications for part-time positions(s) as Lecturer for Winter Quarter 2025.  The successful candidate will teach one course in Public Theology to graduate and undergraduate students.


The Lecturer will be responsible for syllabus and lesson-plan design, classroom instruction, holding weekly office hours, and the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials. The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement  between the University and the Service Employees International Union. This position is contingent on final budgetary approval.  This position is not benefits-eligible.  Teaching must happen in person.

 

Candidates must hold the MDiv or equivalent degree.  Candidates must have relevant work experience in the field of public theology.  Experience teaching at the university or four-year-college level is preferred.
