Part-time Job Announcement

Position: Barbering Part-time Laboratory Assistant

Location: Walton Campus

Department: Division of Business, Industry, and Technology

Reports to: Program Chair for Cosmetology and Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. No State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction.
  • Assists faculty with the supervision and mentoring of students during scheduled lab sessions or tutoring sessions, as needed.
  • Assists faculty with maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment, as instructed.
  • Assists with inventory maintenance and requisition of supplies.
  • Obtains materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials.
  • Completes ALL required employee trainings.
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed.
  • Assists with special projects or initiatives, as needed.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by program chair.
Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Cosmetology or a related field.
  • A valid Georgia Master Barber License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to assist day and evening classes.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the cosmetology industry.
  • Experience with TCSG cosmetology programs.
  • Experience with a diverse clientele and services including: shaving, barber cutting techniques, wet hairstyling, color, permanent waving, relaxers, smoothing treatments, and/or skin care.
  • Knowledge of NIC licensure exams.
