JACOBS SCHOOL OF MUSIC (BL-MUS-IUBLA)

IU Jacobs School of Music is seeking a talented and creative graphic designer to join our team on a part-time basis, contributing to the visual identity and communication strategies of our brand across both digital and print platforms.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Works with our senior designer to assist in translating our brand vision into compelling and visually engaging designs for web and print.
  • Works closely with the communication team to create appealing and compelling graphics that effectively communicate our message to our target audience(s).
  • Creates visually appealing designs (electronic, web, and print) utilizing the Jacobs School of Music and Indiana University brand assets and standards.
  • Assists with website design, updates and copy changes in the IU WCMS.
  • Assists with ongoing print products including posters, programs, publications and other promotional materials for the team.
  • Serves as web content support, updating content on the Jacobs website, providing website assistance to offices and departments across the school, and if needed, support faculty and staff on the use of the Website Content Management System (WCMS), and the Indiana University web framework.
  • Helps ensure consistency in branding and design elements across all platforms.
  • Assists in maintenance of a visual asset library.
  • Supports work on Salesforce and other CRM platforms if needed.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Associate degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years relevant experience

SKILLS

Required

  • Strong portfolio
  • Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing web and print design projects
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), technology, and website management
  • Experience updating websites across various platforms
  • Experience designing promotional materials
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback effectively
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Time management skills including the ability to multitask, manage a range of priorities, and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize and set goals

IU Bloomington Campus

This is an in-person position

Pay is $21.00 per hour

20 hours per week.
