Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. 


Department Information

The Bagwell College of Education is one of the leading providers of teacher preparation and graduate education studies in the University System of Georgia. KSU' s Educator Preparation Provider (EPP) is the University's umbrella organization for preparing educators and includes 11 departments from four colleges, all of which collaborate in the design, delivery, and approval of all educator preparation programs. All educator preparation programs are approved by Georgia's Professional Standards Commission (PSC).

The Bagwell College of Education (BCOE) at KSU is one of the largest and strongest educator preparation providers in Georgia offering bachelors, masters, specialists, and doctoral degree programs on-campus, blended, and fully online.

As one of the larger departments at KSU, the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education has more than 80 full-time and part-time faculty members. The department serves over 1,000 Elementary and Early Childhood Education undergraduate majors and over 100 graduate majors. It offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Its M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education is offered online. Certification for pre-kindergarten to grade five is embedded in the undergraduate program. In addition, the department offers the Birth to Kindergarten Bachelor of Science degree program.

 


Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education for Birth-Kindergarten for the academic year 2024-2025 These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis.  Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. 

This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.


Responsibilities
 
  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Birth to Kindergarten program

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. 


Required Qualifications
 

To teach undergraduate courses:

  •    A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Early Childhood Education, Birth to Kindergarten, or a closely related discipline is required.  
  •    At least 3 years of experience working in early learning environments

OR

  •    A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.  
  •    At least 3 years of experience working in early learning environments

To teach graduate courses:

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Early Childhood Education, Birth to Kindergarten, or a related discipline is required. 

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Five years working in high quality or accredited early learning environments
  • Familiarity with licensing and accreditation requirements for early learning programs
  • Familiarity with infant and early childhood mental health

    Background Check
