Position Summary
University of the Incarnate Word is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Kinesiology, Sport Management, and Wellness for the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing & Health Professions. Faculty are assigned for one term at a time. Part-time faculty are not eligible for University benefit programs. The part-time faculty will report to the Dean, Ila Faye School of Nursing/Health Professions.
This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you, as the employee, to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

  • Evaluation of student performance is through either exams, papers, or assessment of student skills.
  • Administrative duties needed to complete the teaching and grading processes.

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree with certification in specific area or Master of Science in a related area.
Required Work Experience
Preparation of course outline is based on syllabus provided by the department. Evaluation of student performance is through either exams, papers, or assessment of student skills. Includes other administrative duties needed to complete the teaching and grading processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree or extensive experience required to teach graduate-level courses.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate level with preference given to candidates willing and qualified to teach a variety of classroom/activity courses within department.
Work Hours
The assigned courses will determine working hours.
