Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking to hire an Enrollment Services Support Coordinator at the Office of International Students and Scholars. The Enrollment Services Support Coordinator completes administrative tasks at the Office of International Students and Scholars. 

The position involves office customer service, new student “hold” and “checklist” management, immunization management, new student admission related correspondence, document processing, and international intake. As well as management of front desk staff, inventory and resource management, event support, social media management, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Enrollment and Student Outreach: 50%

  • Retention: Develops and implements outreach activities designed to minimize time to graduation through follow up of stop outs and drop outs

  • Recruitment: Develops and implements outreach activities designed to maximize yield of new students through social media, development of multi-media content, printed materials, web, email and phone contact

  • Assists with Advanced Registration of New freshmen, placing students into English and Mathematics and English language preparation courses as needed

  • Guides students through academic recovery process

  • Guides students through compliance regulations within the context of Return of Title 4 funds, SEVIS, student services student employment policies, immunization requirements, submissions

  • Assists students with course registration software navigation

  • Responds to student inquiries, both domestic and international regarding program availability, change of major, graduation and Commencement processes; guides prospective and currently enrolled students to the appropriate academic advisor as appropriate

  • Assists with transportation needs for arriving students

  • Support with programming for recruitment and retention

Troubleshooting: 25%

  • Troubleshoot student enrollment problems, including but not limited to student financial obligations, student visa issues, immunization compliance, pre-requisite failures, and enrollment holds

  • Reconciles discrepancies in student records, advises students needing to withdraw; guides students through improper withdrawal policies as needed

  • Works cooperatively with the Graduate School to troubleshoot enrollment problems as related to graduate students

Project and Financial Management: 25%

  • Defines budgetary needs as required by recruitment and retention programming.

  • Assists with procurement of goods and services necessary to successful program implementation

  • Performs necessary operations in Workday

  • Provides assessment data to determine program effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must have graduated from high school or have equivalent education and two (2) years of administrative support experience which include experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Maintaining records and files

    • Preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor

    • Assisting customers in completing forms and applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education

  • Candidate has prior international experience

Schedule

Expected hours to work per week: 32; including occasional weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
