Job Description:

Membership to the Fitchburg State University part time adjunct faculty pool is open to qualified and competent experts, external to the Fitchburg State University faculty, who possess skills, education, and experience in academic and/or professional areas.

The Department of Engineering Technology at Fitchburg State University is seeking applications for a pool of part time adjunct faculty positions with a focus in engineering building science, architectural design, the sustainable design of the built environment, engineering technology, and construction management. All part time faculty are responsible for providing our students with a high-quality learning environment, while utilizing their focused expertise and experience in their individual classroom, laboratories, and studios. Faculty will need to be available to teach in-person during the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters.

The Engineering Technology department offers the following Majors/Concentrations/Tracks

Engineering Technology Program with Concentrations:

  • Architecture
  • Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Energy Management Engineering Technology
  • Manufacturing Engineering Technology

Construction Management Program

Applied Science & Technology Program with Concentrations:

  • Technology/Engineering Education Licensure Track
  • Technology/Engineering Education Non-Licensure Track


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • An earned Master's degree in Engineering/ Construction Management/ Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • College teaching experience is desirable.
  • Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching

Experience Teaching in courses (or relevant):

  • Engineering Graphics
  • Building Design I
  • Building Design II
  • Architectural Design
  • Site Planning & Land Development
  • Building Construction Systems
  • Seminar in Architecture

Please attach a letter of interest and resume when applying for any part time teaching position.

Candidates selected to teach for the university are required to complete a CORI and the Student Clearinghouse Authorization form prior to hire. This will be sent out via an email welcome along with other pertinent preliminary information. The form provides authorization to the university to qualify degrees held through the National Student Clearinghouse. If the university is not able to qualify candidates' degrees, candidates will be required to submit official transcripts for all degrees held to the Office of Human Resources & Payroll Services, 160 Pearl Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

If selected to teach, three (3) letters of recommendation will also be required.
