Job Title: Part-time Clinical Science Professional (Entry – Intermediate Level) (0.3 FTE)

Job Summary:

This position will provide research assistance in the WBHW outpatient practice, the new WBHW perinatal mental health intensive outpatient program, and support with clinical research and innovation activities related to perinatal mental health. This is currently a part-time position at 0.3 FTE with potential for increase dependent on project availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies including scheduling subject participation in research clinical trial, coordinating availability of necessary space, and clinical research support (e.g., physician, nurse practitioner, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy).
  • Perform informed consent process or ensures that the informed consent process has occurred, is properly documented, and that informed consent form documents are filed as required and participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities.
  • Collect, code, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner while adhering to research regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Creation and maintenance of program databases to collect data from chart review, clinical research, program evaluation, and quality improvement data.
  • Point of contact for regulatory work related to clinical research and program evaluation projects, including study initiation, continued correspondence with COMIRB, and study closure.
  • Correspondence with university and non-university contacts for issues related to printing, delivery of program materials, IT issues, etc.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems).
  • Experience with RedCap.
  • Prior experience with regulatory submissions (IRB, FDA).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this part-time (0.30 FTE) position has been established as:

Entry Level: $14,125.20 - $17,967.30

Intermediate Level: $15,371.70 - $19,552.80

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
