The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Call Center Counselor in Financial Aid on the Dahlonega campus. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Customer Service Call Center.

  • Provides information to students and parents about financial aid functions, timelines, and eligibility, triaging students to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service and communicates effectively with internal and external customers regarding regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with call campaigns to incoming students or students with missing documents.
  • Resolves student inquiries in person, over the phone (call center setting) and/or email and documents all necessary information according to office standards.
  • Researches current State and Federal regulations to keep up-to-date and determines the application of regulations to specific student circumstances.
  • Participates in Student Orientations, Financial aid events and Open houses.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of routine office equipment and procedures; knowledge of various software programs; knowledge of financial aid application procedures and forms.
  • Requires effective communication skills; accurate typing/data entry skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population; ability to utilize BANNER or a similar relational database.
  • Associate Degree (or higher).
  • 2 years of experience as financial aid, bank, or retail associate.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
