All About You


JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, coordinates and presents hands-on demonstrations, distance learning educational programs, and community education programs as part of the Adventures in Medicine and Science (AIMS) community outreach program. Assists with specimen transportation, storage, and care for the AIMS program; assists with facilitation and preparation for workshop and rental laboratories for PASE programs.

**Workshops are on weekdays and middle of the day programs**

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include any and/or all the following:

  • Serves as instructor for AIMS program and other hands-on cadaver dissections and workshops; assists in planning and production of anatomical and surgical training programs for distance learning programs.

  • Assists with audiovisual and distance learning needs for AIMS educational programs.

  • Assists with laboratory preparation/cleaning and assistance for AIMS/PASE programs.

  • Monitors conditions of specimens; provides routine care to specimens as directed.

  • Travels to various local and regional locations to present programs to school and community groups.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARATERISTICS

  • Knowledge of basic human gross anatomy

  • Knowledge of audiovisual and projection equipment

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to conduct training programs/seminars/workshops

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel/drive to off-site locations

  • Ability to operate a personal computer and various software

  • Ability to maintain a schedule

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds independently without issue

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience equivalent to

  • Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with two (2) years of related experience.
