Job Summary/Basic Function:
This position reports to the Dean, Health & Industrial Technology. The duties and responsibilities include:
  • Providing administrative support to the Dean, HIT with emphasis on workforce development portfolio including accreditation and credentialing.
  • Keyboards data on computer and/or typewriter including institutional reports and correspondence.
  • Answers and directs phone calls; provides information and assistance; directs calls to appropriate person; looks up information for staff, students and external customers.
  • Maintains files and follows records retention procedures; monitors budget accounts; performs inventory checks on departmental supplies.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level assigned.
Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, and talking.
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college preferred;
  • One year of general office experience preferred;
  • Must be able to read and comprehend complex requirements for effective office administration including specialized, state, regional, & national academic & workforce accreditation & credentialing as applicable/directed;
  • Must be proficient in office automation technology including but not limited to MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, web browsers, MS Teams/Zoom, data entry, remote secure access to network (VPN), & mobile technology devices such as laptops & cell phones;
  • Must be capable of exceptional written communication including proofing administrative documentation & reports required of academic & workforce accreditation & credentialing, as well as periodic performance reports & budgeting;
  • Must be an organized, independent, resourceful, detail-oriented & creative self-starter & task master;
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; and
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.
