WSU Vancouver Public Safety is looking for someone customer service oriented to join our team as a Parking Guide.

Summary of Duties:

This position is responsible for customer service (including Point-of-Sale (POS) duties), and parking enforcement (including ticketing) for the WSU Vancouver campus. Duties include enforcement of parking regulations, motorist assistance, and monitoring lot usage. This position will be required to perform some light maintenance and cleaning duties in parking lots. This position will also coordinate activities related to special event parking and assist in training new employees.

Required Qualifications:

Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

Additional Requirements:

Minimum age of 18 and 2-years driving experience.

Available to work daily, evening, weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least two years of experience enforcing rules and regulations in a campus Parking and Transportation system.

At least two years of experience demonstrating effective customer service skills for a high-volume operation.

Experience in providing customer service in confrontational and stressful situations. Experience using Point of Sale (POS) cash register system.

Monthly Salary:

$3,096/month ($41,017/year) Step A of R038. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

Work Location and Schedule: 

Available to work daily, evening, weekends and holidays as needed.
