Work Schedule
2:00 pm – 11:00 pm Monday – Friday and other hours as assigned including possible weekends and holidays when needed.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position is the supervisor over all evening or after hours parking enforcement personnel. Supervises the patrol of parking facilities, provides information and assistance to the campus community, enforces parking regulations by issuing citations to vehicles in violation of University’s Parking Ordinance, and performs traffic control duties as necessary during special events on campus.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management
experience; including some experience as a lead worker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience including one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Job Duties
  • Supervise Parking Enforcement Officers.
  • Patrol campus parking areas by vehicle and on foot.
  • Review all citations for accuracy and provide management with weekly reports.
  • Issue digital citations using enforcement software and security cameras.
  • Train Parking Enforcement Officers in the basic techniques, equipment and procedures required to complete assigned duties.
  • Act as a campus ambassador, providing impeccable customer service to the campus community and visitors.
Other Work Responsibilities
  • Screen applicants, arrange and conduct interviews, and make hiring recommendations.
  • Delegate work assignment to employees and monitor daily work performance.
  • Check vehicles for appropriate parking authorizations using parking enforcement equipment including license plate recognition systems and mobile devices.
  • Properly operate task-specific technology such as: mobile devices, motorized vehicles with mounted license plate recognition cameras and an embedded Windows device, mobile payment enforcement interface, parking access and revenue control equipment and a two-way radio.
  • Application and removal of vehicle immobilization devices or coordinate vehicle impounds as instructed by a manager.
  • Assist with special events planning and execution, by acquiring staff, supervision of event personnel, traffic control and performing general event operations.
  • Perform routine audits of parking-related signage in lots and facilities.
  • Post / deploy temporary signage.
  • Maintain a professional looking fleet of Parking Enforcement vehicles at all times through scheduled cleanings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Parking Operations Manager, the Special Events Manager or their designee.

  • One year of supervisory experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and address customer complaints.
  • Experience with de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work some holidays and weekends.
  • Experience with mobile computing devices and two-way radios.
  • Experience with ticket writing.
  • Traffic control experience.
  • Experience working in a campus environment.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications
  • N.C. driver’s license.
