The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Painter on the Dahlonega campus. This position requires craftsmanship to prepare and finish surfaces new and old and familiarity with a variety of interior and exterior finishes.

  • Make surface repairs, prepare surfaces for painting, and apply appropriate paint color, sheen, and base.
  • Paint curbs, handrails and lamp posts.
  • Able to use latex, epoxy, oil, varnishes, and enamel paints.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Keep tools of the trade clean and in good working order.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the tools of the trade. Safety practices. 
  • Familiar with painting with hand brushes, rollers and spray guns. 
  • Able to work from ladders and scaffolds. 
  • Ability to perform physical labor to include but not limited to lifting, pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds, climbing and working from ladders and performing manual labor tasks for extended periods.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Residential-level painting experience.

Standard Hiring Range: $ 15.87 - $17.46 per hour
