The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Painter on the Dahlonega campus. This position requires craftsmanship to prepare and finish surfaces new and old and familiarity with a variety of interior and exterior finishes.
- Make surface repairs, prepare surfaces for painting, and apply appropriate paint color, sheen, and base.
- Paint curbs, handrails and lamp posts.
- Able to use latex, epoxy, oil, varnishes, and enamel paints.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Keep tools of the trade clean and in good working order.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of the tools of the trade. Safety practices.
- Familiar with painting with hand brushes, rollers and spray guns.
- Able to work from ladders and scaffolds.
- Ability to perform physical labor to include but not limited to lifting, pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds, climbing and working from ladders and performing manual labor tasks for extended periods.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Residential-level painting experience.
Standard Hiring Range: $ 15.87 - $17.46 per hour
