Painter I

The Facilities Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all campus facilities which includes buildings, grounds, and utility systems. 

Qualifications

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• This Painter I position job responsibilities include preparing (scraping, sanding, cleaning), repairing (Drywall and plaster), and painting walls, buildings, ceilings and other building components across campus. 

Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills and abilities, licenses and certifications);

• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
• High School Education or GED required, plus three (3) years of related experience, or the completion of trade school.
• Must be able to pass and test for, and wear, a respirator.
• Applicant should be able to prep architectural surfaces, patch and repair.  Also, the applicant should have the ability to roll and brush a variety of paints and finishes, be able to choose proper tools and equipment to finish assignments.  The applicant should be able to lift, climb and work at varying heights as well as proper ladder uses.  The applicant should be in good physical health and have the ability to perform moderately strenuous work activities.
