- We are conducting visitor use monitoring for the U.S. Forest Service National Visitor Use Monitoring (NVUM) Program in National Forests of USFS Region 6 over the current and upcoming fiscal years (presently-October 2022). Any current students/recent graduates who are interested in conducting such work, the surveys will take place in the Mt. Hood and CRG areas from now until October 2021, and then we will shift to the south and west and cover the Umpqua, Willamette, Rogue River-Siskiyou, and Siuslaw National Forests until October 2022. This is a great opportunity for students to get paid field experience in outdoor visitor monitoring and recreation research. Conduct interviews with recreationists at breathtaking locations on National Forests in the Pacific Northwest • Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area • Mount Hood National Forest • Gifford Pinchot National Forest Benefits: •Gain valuable field experience •Rental car and gas card (for work purposes) provided •Forest Service bunkhouse space provided if needed •30 to 40 hours/week •Program dates approximately August 01 thru September 30, 2021 (may be extended) •Wages start at $14 per hour Email resume and cover letter to Dr. Ross Andrew, NVUM Program Manager [email protected] Contact Professor is Dr. Robert C.
