The Pharmacy Academic and Leadership (

PAL

) program is a structured two-year experience, offered through the University at Buffalo’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (

SPPS

)

Department of Pharmacy Practice (PHM)

, for candidates interested in a career as a non-tenure track (

NTT

) clinical faculty member. This program is designed for both entry-level pharmacists without postgraduate training and for pharmacists who have completed postgraduate training and/or who have experience in pharmacy practice.


The program is composed of FOUR core domains and the job responsibilities will be in:

  • Teaching
  • Research/scholarship
  • Leadership
  • Clinical practice

The relative time spent in each domain will be tailored to the goals and experiences of each Postdoctoral Associate, to be determined at the initial assessment meeting with the program director. This program is designed to achieve the following objectives: To develop teaching skills through immersion in the didactic, experiential, and interprofessional education and curricular development; to develop research/scholarship skills through active engagement in research, grantsmanship, and presentation/publication of scholarly works; to develop leadership skills through engagement in school/departmental committees and professional organizations; and, to advance clinical practice skills through completion of clinical pharmacy experiences.
