Job Summary/Responsibilities | Ozzie’s Playful Computing Camp is a unique opportunity for UNF students to gain experience collaborating and supporting an experienced lead teacher while working with small cohorts of elementary students (grades 1-5) on Scratch Coding and related STEM learning experiences. This curriculum is already prepared, age-appropriate and fun. Counselors would be responsible for assisting with all transitions, morning set-up and afternoon clean up, safe pick-up/drop-off maneuvers, assistance organizing and facilitating enrichment activities, supporting the lead teacher with classroom instruction and lesson facilitation that explores topics in engineering/ design thinking, computer coding, robotics, and drones. And let’s not forget— play! Ozzie’s Playful Computing Camp will run for 3 weeks in June, and includes paid training, orientation and classroom set up with your assigned lead teacher.

Required Qualifications | • Be a current UNF student • Proficiency in undergraduate coursework • Functions well when working on a team • Aptitude to learn on the job from co-workers and supervisors • Ability to maintain patience and positive attitude when working with students • Pass background check upon job offer and get fingerprinted (project will pay the cost of background check and fingerprinting) |
Preferred Qualifications | • College of Education and Human Services STEM education students are preferred; however, students from STEM fields are encouraged to apply • Strong STEM academic background • Demonstrated positive experience working with children in educational settings |
