Job Summary:

The Outreach Specialist role is a unique opportunity to help promote the Early Childhood Health Consultation program to early care and education providers and network professionals. This position will be responsible for developing multi-channel communication campaigns, introducing the program at conference exhibit booths, organizing webinar records to support the program offering continuing education credit for attendees, support the facilitation of programmatic meetings, and leading expansion communication efforts to the program's expansion service locations.
This position will report to Early Childhood Health Consultation Project Manager. While the Outreach Specialist role will have oversight on outreach communication tasks, they will not be responsible for supervisory tasks. This role will also be supported by Dr. Dipesh Navsaria, Early Childhood Health Consultation Program Director, Clinical Professor of Human Development & Family Studies, and Outreach Faculty Fellow for the Child Development Lab at the School of Human Ecology. Dr. Navsaria also holds an appointment at the School of Medicine and Public Health. This position's operational unit will be with the Department of Human Development and Family Studies in the School of Human Ecology. The Outreach Specialist will work in collaboration with Dr. Navsaria, the Early Childhood Health Consultation program team, and the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families.


Responsibilities:
Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
  • 10% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • 5% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
  • 15% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
  • 15% Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • 5% Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
  • 5% May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
  • 25% Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
  • 10% Supports organization of program records and reporting of data
  • 10% Monitors program public facing email, cellphone, and social media and coordinates with corresponding team member to address incoming programmatic requests

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree
Focus in related field, such as communications, marketing, public health, or early childhood.
Preferred
Master's Degree
In aligned field including, communications, marketing, public health, or early childhood.


Qualifications:

For candidates who hold a Bachelors degree only it is preferred that they possess 3 or more years of experience in aligned fields of study including communications, marketing, public health, or early childhood.
The department particularly seeks candidates who are Bilingual (English & Spanish).

Remote, with occasional in-person exhibit table hosting at Wisconsin conferences and team meetings held on-campus in Madison, Wisconsin.

Salary:

Minimum $42,600 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The annual starting salary for this position is listed as $42,600 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The Early Childhood Health Consultation program is in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Family and Children, housed at the UW-Madison School of Human Ecology, and funded by the Preschool Development Grant. The goal of the program is to support early childhood care and education providers by offering a reliable place to ask their health-related questions and ultimately promote best practices for the health and safety of the children across Wisconsin. The Early Childhood Health Consultation program offers ongoing guidance statewide through our on-demand resource library, monthly webinars, and a fun informative podcast. Additionally, tailored health consultation services are available to early childhood care & education locations across Wisconsin. Through strong collaboration, the Early Childhood Health Consultation aims to provide an environment where an individual can feel fulfilled and be their best self.
