Job Summary:

Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) is a statewide service with a robust local presence. In this role, you will report to the Regional Manager and work closely with a team of statewide Outreach Specialists from across the state. Your work will help ensure that WPR is an integral part of the local community. In this job, you will help plan and manage details of all external activities including events, community engagement and a regional e-newsletter. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, demonstrate an open-mindedness for growth and be able to work in independent and collaborative settings, as well as represent WPR professionally in public.


Responsibilities:
Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
  • 5% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • 50% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
  • 30% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
  • 10% Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • 5% Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree with a focus in marketing, communications, or public relations.


Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Strong verbal and written communication skills, including using cloud-based technology (Google, Zoom, etc.)
-Proven ability to collaborate within an organization
-Demonstrated organizational skills including the ability to work within tight deadlines and manage details
-Experience working with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds and abilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Two years professional experience in the area of outreach, engagement or event planning


Work Type:

Part Time: 50%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated work location.
This position will be predominantly onsite work - occasional workplace flexibility may be granted depending on business need. This is a 20-hour per week job.

Salary:

Minimum $48,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The minimum salary for this position is $48k. We expect to pay between $48k and $55k. Actual salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
