Posting Summary | Advance the educational mission of the Center on Aging through developing, coordinating, and implementing primarily externally focused community services, programs, and educational projects in support of university outreach. Collaborate with statewide & regional advocates in the Aging Network to improve the lives of Older Adults in Vermont. Organize special events, workshops or activities and facilitate outcomes in support of and beneficial to older Vermonters, caregivers and professionals who support older Vermonters, based on comprehensive knowledge and understanding of university policies, procedures, and guidelines. Develop, coordinate, and execute annual educational programs such as the statewide Gerontology Symposium which is designed to present topics and information relevant for both family and professional caregivers which work with our population of older adults. Create promotional and instructional materials, specialized publications such as an informational sheet for UVM Foundations, Outreach PowerPoint presentations for community members and the monthly newsletter. This dynamic position includes both community outreach and collaboration within the UVM community as it relates to advocating for the aging population in Vermont. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelors in Gerontology or related field and two to four years’ experience in the field of aging education. Experience in or understanding of program development including understanding audiences and ability to seek out resources required. Understanding of academic/university structure required. Community outreach experience is required. Effective interpersonal, presentation and public speaking skills required. |
Desirable Qualifications | Experience in Microsoft Outlook, web design, media development is desirable. |
Anticipated Pay Range | 52,000-60,000 |

Special Conditions | Non-standard work hours required, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position |
