Outreach Coordinator

Creighton University is seeking to hire a full time Outreach Coordinator.  This role is responsible for recruiting, providing services to, and monitoring the progress of an assigned caseload of 450 participants.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide educational assistance to low-income and first-generation adults over the age of 19, who reside in Omaha or the surrounding areas.
  • Implement approved recruitment strategies to be utilized within the target area
  • Identify and recruit new EOC program participants by conducting monthly workshops onsite and in the community.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with representatives of the host institution and educational, community, and faith-based organizations,
  • Create and maintain relationships with new and existing community partners.
  • Maintain annual contact with previous EOC participants,
  • Assist EOC participants with enrollment into Adult Basic Education Programs including GED.
  • Conduct GED orientation workshops and administer assessment tests to program participants.
  • Advise participants on matters of college preparation, academic success, career exploration, personal development, and financial literacy and on matters regarding postsecondary enrollment.
  • Assist participants with completing college admissions applications, completing the FAFSA or Federal Financial Aid, and advising and enrolling into postsecondary courses.
  • Provide participants assistance with financial aid appeals and loan defaults.
  • Stay current with the catalogue and program requirements of colleges and universities in the target area.
  • Develop, maintain, and submit timely and accurate reports on personal and participant activities and progress.
  • Refer participants to agencies or other TRIO programs that provide services not offered by the project.
  • Attend and facilitate job and educational fairs as well as on-campus and offsite professional development workshops.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (such as Education, Counseling, Communication, or Human Services).
  • 1 + years of experience relative to skills and qualifications listed.
  • Experience with first-generation and low-income populations and Knowledge of TRIO programs a plus.
