The Outreach & Admissions Specialist reports to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management. In addition to marketing Atlanta Metropolitan State College, the Admissions Recruiter and Outreach Specialist is responsible for directly interacting with prospective students, parents, dual enrollment students, high school counselors, internal staff, community members at high schools, college/career fair visitors, community education programs, and some academic school focused recruitment initiatives (face-to-face and virtually). This position has the responsibility of effectively communicating admissions requirements, scholarship opportunities, academic programs, and financial aid options to promote progression through the enrollment funnel (prospect to enrollment). The position will additionally be responsible for a specific recruitment territory and the management of that territory through the development of an annual territory-specific strategic recruitment plan. This will include extensive travel including overnight and weekends, which will require autonomy and self-accountability. The Admissions Recruiter and Outreach Specialist will maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and HIPPA.  

Participate in New Student Orientation and coordinate campus visits and Open Houses; ability to create and make campus presentation to prospective students, parents and stakeholders, effective public speaking and communication skills, and able to work with diverse constituencies; assist students with College application process and make referrals to academic and student services.
Communicate with and disseminate information to prospective students, applicants, and admits connecting them with the College prior to matriculation; collaborate campus community and enrollment services for recruitment efficiency and success.
Create and design and create electronic and printed recruitment materials, including an undergraduate view book, inserts, post cards, electronic newsletters, web pages, etc., in collaboration with AMSCs Marketing office; send and monitor communication blasts for effective student recruitment; retrieve necessary admissions documents and communicate with students for application completion.
Data driven recruitment based on performance indicators, production reports, target territories, etc.; travel within the state and region to meet with college bound high school juniors and seniors; ability, willingness to train for off and onsite test proctoring, and assessment.
Administer an assessment tool for determining if recruitment initiatives are effective and make recommendations for changes in activities and events sponsored by the College; perform analyses to determine commonalities among students who matriculate and identify what academic and socioeconomic profiles influence their decision to matriculate to the College; advise staff & faculty, and prospective and current AMSC students on the criteria for application and admission to the College.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Required Experience
One year of experience in a college, business, or student engagement environment; 

Requirements:

(OR)an Associate's degree and three years of experience in a college, business, or student engagement environment; or a combination of continued education and work experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Banner software experience.  A working knowledge of BANNER with the ability to independently operate efficiently within multiple and sometimes complicated computer software systems simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education student recruitment.

Ability to travel weekends and overnight


Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills


Ability to work well in a diverse and inclusive environment


Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases


Ability to move 25lbs or more with or without reasonable accommodation

The candidate for this position must be a goal-driven, self-starter, capable of working independently while serving as the lead consultant on the day-to-day recruitment efforts
