Working hours:
Due to the nature of the compensation package each assistant receives, they are expected to work to the completion of their tasks which is 20 hours per week.

Position Purpose
1. Assist with the planning and implementation of outdoor education programs.
2. Lead and support outdoor trips which will be over the weekend and during extended breaks.
3. Schedule and facilitate training for the climbing wall staff.
4. Create leadership programs to be utilized by departments on campus, public school districts, corporate industry and other looking for ways to stretch their employees.
5. Assist at Trap & Skeet Range.
6. Assist in daily operation of the Student Recreation & Wellness Center
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
Outdoor skills perhaps in rock climbing, canoeing, back packing, hiking, fly fishing, archery. Enjoys the outdoors. Has planned outdoor programs for elementary and middle school age children.

Scholarship: Students filling a Graduate Assistantship (GA) position are
eligible to receive a graduate tuition waiver, a graduate non-resident
tuition waiver (if applicable), and a graduate mandatory fees waiver. The
scholarships are in the form of a waiver and the funds are not deposited
into the student’s personal account. Instead, the student’s bill is reduced
by the amount of the scholarship awarded. If the maximum amount of the
scholarship is not used, the remainder is not paid to the student in any
form and unused scholarship money cannot be carried over to another
semester. The scholarship is applied to graduate level courses only;
courses taken for undergraduate credit are not eligible to be covered by
the GA scholarship. The non-resident fee scholarship only applies to
classes taken on the UCM Warrensburg campus. The maximum scholarship
amounts are based on the size of assistantship held. For a full (20 hour
per week) assistantship, the scholarship covers tuition costs up to $3,795.00 (+$3,265.00 for non-residents) and mandatory fees up to $660.00
of graduate coursework per semester. Graduate assistantship positions less
than full will be prorated accordingly.
