Position Summary
Rocky Mountain Adventure Camp is looking for outstanding Counselors for the month of July. This is an outdoor adventure camp for teens from military families. Counselors will work as part of a team facilitating an awesome outdoor adventure for our campers, including hiking, ropes course, team building, rafting, and other activities in the mountains. This job is temporary, and Counselors need to be available for two camps: July 11-14, July 18-21. Camps are held at the CSU Mountain Campus in the Poudre Canyon. Transportation to and from the job site is provided, as is room and board Monday through Thursday for each camp.
Position Minimum Qualifications
  • CPR/1st aid certified or willingness to get certified before camp.
  • Ability to respond to the needs of diverse audiences through adaptable written and verbal communication methods.
  • Experience leading group discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Passion for the outdoors and youth.
  • Commitment to youth development and programming.
  • Outdoor experience.
  • Experience facilitating an outdoor experience.
  • Experience facilitating team building activities.
  • Ability to collaborate and build solid relationships with teammates.
  • Capacity to be disciplined to get up early and go to bed late.
  • Experience engaging with others.
  • Able to hike moderate to difficult trails ranging from 6-14 miles.
  • Capacity to be focused on the campers and the good of the team and willing to give your all each day.
