Outcomes and Graduate Success Coordinator

The Outcomes and Graduate Success Coordinator is responsible for performing employment preparation functions that support the employment and career pathing success of DevMountain and Hackbright graduates. This includes areas including job preparation, job search health and wellness, events planning, career counseling and associated career services

Essentials Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ownership over the information pipeline and support experience that enables graduates to obtain in-field employment
  • Proactively schedule and meet with graduates for our WebDev, iOS, QA, UX, and SWE cohorts and ensure completion of assigned Graduate Success tasks Conceptualize, design, build, and maintain outcomes curriculum based on cohort needs and job-search trends
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Graduate Success content library Message, email and via remote options accomplish student and graduate / alumni meetings and one-on-one sessions as often as time permits or as the student/graduate needs
  • Use independent judgement and discretion in order to maximize student engagement and motivation during the job search, such as through scheduling one-on-one or group sessions with alumni
  • Track hiring data for Outcomes annual placement reporting and analyze effectiveness of efforts in order to guide best practices for alumni support with a target goal of over 80% 180-day placement rate
  • Ensure that the Graduate Success Lifecycle is kept per program
  • Coach on technical interviewing, resume and LinkedIn building.
  • Help with job search and interview preparation
  • Conduct and track check-ins with students once they have graduated until employment is obtained
  • Strategically leverage research on current labor market and recruitment trends and support curriculum updates.
  • Coordinate with mentors and instructors on individual student progress and solutions
  • Identify and resolve employment related issues for students and graduates of the DevMountain programs
  • Evaluate student progress throughout coursework and beyond graduation Collaborate on student data with outcomes and student success
  • Lead workshops on career progression and job search skills acquisition Coordinate with employers and alumni for learning opportunities, panels, workshops and events for students.

Job Skills:

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively across levels internally and with external business partners.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms.)
  • Attention to detail and the ability to organize information effectively.
  • Ability to multitask, easily adapt to a change, and appropriately prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting

Work Experience:

  • 2 years prior experience studying or working in either of the fields of HR, counseling, and/or talent acquisition
  • 6 months' prior experience in a career services role in higher education

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution

Other:

  • Must be able to travel 0-10% of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25x lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain. · Effectively cope with stressful situations
  • Strong mental acuity
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%). 
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
  • If an offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
