The student employee will assist staff/faculty in supervision and training of the OU Nightly editorial and production crews. The student will perform as OU Nightly Producer, Video Producer, Director and Technical Director, Audio, Graphics or Master Control Operator as needed. The student may also assist with studio lighting tasks and live shot station setup related to the production of the OU Nightly. The student will also assist staff/faculty in training of students in field production and post-production. OU Nightly is a student-produced television newscast that is live streamed on social media and airs live on OUTV. Other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the SPRING Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
- Must attach Spring 2024 class schedule
- Completion of JMC 3011 (OU Nightly section or Sooner Sports Pad section) or volunteer experience on the TV Editorial Staff, TV News Crew or Sports Staff for at least one semester.
Skills:
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work on the lighting grid using a high ceiling ladder.
Department Preferences:
- Prefer the students classification be freshman, sophomore, junior, or non graduating senior.
- Prefer a Journalism or Creative Media Production major enrolled as a full time student in good standing.
