OSP Manager, Grants & Contracts

Job Summary:

Position is responsible for the management of various post-award related administration duties in the central Office of Sponsored Programs and serve as an authorized representative for the institution. Oversees, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for post-award duties to ensure compliance of internal and external procedures.


Job Duties:

  • Management and oversight of various post-award related processes that include reviewing and approving activity for professional staff. Review, approve and post/submit journal entries and other transactions prepared by operational team.
  • Assigns duties to personnel and oversees work in progress for all cash handling, subaward invoice processing, and compliance activities.
  • Provides internal/ external training for all staff members.
  • Prepares institutional reports and ad hoc comprehensive sponsored program reports for internal and external sources as requested by the Assistant Vice President of Sponsored Programs.
  • Provides policy and procedure interpretation to faculty and staff across campus.  
  • Manages staff to include interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; setting and adjusting pay rates and hours of work; planning and directing work; appraising productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in employment status; handling complaints/ grievances and disciplining when necessary.
  • Responsible for the oversight and compliance monitoring of institutions-effort certification process.
  • Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements process improvement opportunities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree is required.


    Experience:

    Four (4) years of post-award administration experience is required.


    Supervisory Requirements:

     

    Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employee.
