Position Summary
The Organizational Development Coordinator is responsible for school wide, organizational development and learning, professional development and job-specific training plans for all staff. The incumbent coordinates training needs across all locations, audiences and units. The incumbent has expertise in organizational development, organizational design, diversity, equity and inclusion, education and business.
The incumbent creates and implements learning pathways for staff. This includes internal development goals, staff, and leadership development. Furthermore, the incumbent works closely with supervisors and Olin administration to identify development needs and provides and identifies appropriate trainings to support the Olinâ™s strategic objectives.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate, Create, and Facilitate

  • Implements and analyzes structures, policies, procedures, processes, and the utilization of resources relative to HR/OD functions, and others as needed.
  • Provides guidance on succession planning, and personnel utilization by increasing cross-functionality and interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Leads initiatives by conducting individual or group training sessions for personnel.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in the creation of content for training, courses and instruction sessions relation to all HR and leadership functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, workforce planning, etc.
  • Oversees training program development and implementation.
  • Supports HR generalist functions as needed.

Professional Development Support

  • Provides regular updates to staff regarding ongoing trends in learning and development.
  • Ensures training and education opportunities align with the strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with people leaders and staff on the design of courses and learning sessions.
  • Develops and implements educational frameworks for programming and in-services programs.
  • Creates materials, interactive videos and other multimedia for training and development needs.

Coordinate and Maintain

  • Maintains up-to-date educational materials and intranet site to support on-going learning activities tailored to specific roles within the organization.
  • Provides ongoing communication to all staff related to training and development activities.
  • Communicates and coordinates learning pathways through University Learn@Work and LinkedIn Learning platforms.
  • Develops and implements periodic events and foster communications to encourage shared learning; playing an important role in contributing to planning and strategic decisions by presenting unbiased and well-balanced research, as requested by the COS/SAD of people and Culture based on organizational need.

Assessment

  • Identifies and applies evaluation methods to professional development and training activities and follows methods for continuous improvement.
  • Supports assessment planning related to HR/OD functions, including staff surveys, engagement, focus groups, etc.
  • Measures the impact of interventions on staff performance, efficiency, employee retention, and job satisfaction.
  • Tracks and reports key metrics to senior management (retention, skills, recruitment, etc.).
  • Oversees HR metrics to support organizational decision making.
  • Works with managers to assess skill needs, workforce development opportunities and to provide programs related to employee retention, professional and career development.
  • Supervises HR Data Analyst. Effectively manages performance and development of staff to maximize efficiency through training and timely coaching. Sets a tone of leadership that is people oriented, collaborative in nature and builds a management culture based on teamwork, open communication, innovation, mentoring and accountability.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of development programs at all levels of the organization.
  • Implements talent management processes including talent development, organizational assessment, succession planning, talent review and assessment, career pathing, employee engagement, and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
  • Analyzes work processes to determine organization-wide training or related initiatives that need to be changed or implemented in order to increase organizational effectiveness.

Personal Development and Team Building

  • Participates in relevant professional development learning opportunities to maintain currency in the field.
  • Participates on Olin and campus committees

Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of learning techniques and best practices, including: needs assessments, adult learning theory, instructional design, presentation, facilitation and training evaluation.
  • Thorough knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques, including: lectures, learning activities, discussions, self-study, computer-based training modules, role playing, simulations, and learning reinforcement strategies.
  • Masterâ™s degree in relevant subject area such as business administration, instructional design, education, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and managing multiple projects and meeting project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability in presentation software and teaching technologies.
  • Experience articulating emerging pedagogies and learning technologies to the Olin community.
  • Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Organizational Development or other HR certification.
  • DEI certification, or relevant training/experience.
  • Proficiency in facilitation, training delivery, and/or instructional design.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and instructional skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical and non-technical concepts associated with existing and emerging learning pedagogies and collaboration technology tools.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and pedagogy.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorâ™s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Education, and/or related field.
  • Three years of experience providing Human Resources Training, or Learning and Development services including training design and delivery.

Salary Range
$57,300.00 - $97,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
