Position Details

The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors for Organic Chemistry I/II Laboratory.

Responsibilities will include:

1.  Teach one or more 4-hour Organic Chemistry I or II Laboratories per week for a semester.  Experiments follow the laboratory manual prepared by the chemistry faculty.

2.  Explain safety procedures, experiment and expectations for each lab.

3.  Assist students with the experimental procedures and data collection.

4.  Create syllabus each semester using guidelines provided by department.

5.  Provide office hours for students.

6.  Grade and return lab reports in a timely fashion.

7.  Manage online learning management system (Blackboard) in consultation with the Organic Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator.

The successful candidate will have:

1.  A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry or related field or equivalent will be considered but a graduate degree in chemistry or a related field will be given preference.

2.  Applicants with experience teaching Organic Chemistry I/II laboratories preferred.
