Oracle HCM BI Analyst

University IT (UIT), part of the Business Affairs organization at Stanford University, is dedicated to delivering world-class service and technological solutions to advance research, teaching and learning, administration, and healthcare. UIT is embarking on a long-term strategy to plan, replace, and implement new cloud-based solutions for several enterprise-wide systems.

UIT seeks an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to support the technical implementation of the University’s cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) and Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) software application suite as part of the Pinnacle program. Pinnacle includes replacement of the legacy HR, Payroll and ELM systems. The Oracle HCM Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for performing moderately complex project and analytical work in a wide range of business intelligence activities that ensure the uniformity, accuracy, and semantic consistency of enterprise data through the application of effective data management, security, stewardship, and governance processes.

Implementation of the new cloud-based HCM/ELM application is sponsored by University HR, Financial Management Services and University IT.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with  Oracle HCM Cloud reporting and analytics tools and solutions, business processes, and workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate into BI reporting and analysis solutions.
  • Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis and developing problem solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated report and analytic development ability with Oracle HCM Cloud enterprise application and database driven applications.
  • Experience with relational and dimensional logical data modeling.
  • Extensive background and experience with report and analysis design and application of User Interface and User Experience best practices.
  • Strong written and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence Cloud Connector (BICC), Oracle Transaction Business Intelligence (OTBI) and Fusion Analytics Warehouse
  • Ability to understand and apply the software development lifecycle and production change control and project management techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability using MS Office; analytical and business intelligence programs such as OBIEE, business objects, Informatica, Tableau, Matlab, SAS, R, SPSS etc.
  • Skilled in facilitating group meetings, including discussions with business owners and users as well as IT development and technical teams working on integration, data flows and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise and business needs.
  • Strong listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Oracle HCM Cloud Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone.
  • Rarely writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $101,000 – 147,000 per annum.
