Responsibilities

Transport patients. Prepare operating room equipment for surgical procedures and position the equipment in order to prepare for the surgical procedure. Assist the surgeon and the nurses in positioning the patient for the surgical procedure. Clean and maintain all equipment. Clean and stock the sub-sterile room on a daily basis. Clean the surgical suite after each surgical procedure. Make up the Pre-Op and Recovery Room beds. Run errands between units. Respond to disaster call and emergency call whenever necessary



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Ability to manipulate and push stretchers, hospital beds and operating room equipment. Ability to assist in moving patients from hospital beds to operating room table. Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically with patients and co-workers. Skill in speaking in a one-on-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to request and relay information to patients, co-workers and other health professionals. Ability to work in a fast paced emergency environment.
