POSITION SUMMARY:
The OPS temporary Research Grant Writer serves in a key role to provide advice, writing the proposal in collaboration with faculty, and a full range of substantive editing on research proposals, manuscripts, and other written products. The Grant Writer will edit grant proposals, beginning by performing research. To develop their proposals, grant writers familiarize themselves with an organization's programs, goals, and financial needs. After compiling all the information they need, grant writers compose and send their proposals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent is responsible for supporting writing for grant applications (to federal funding agencies, non-profit funding organizations, and foundations, as well as university intramural opportunities). They will participate in writing, editing, proof-reading, and formatting grant proposals for peer review.
The OPS temporary Research Grant Writer serves in a key role to provide advising, writing, and a full range of substantive editing on research proposals, manuscripts, and other written products.
The incumbent will contribute to the success of the research enterprise by helping faculty write successful new and continuation research grant applications to Federal and other funding agencies.
The incumbent will support the advancement of the College of Engineering (COE) faculty by helping edit and prepare their manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals; and support the COE faculty promotional efforts by copy-editing, marketing and research communications authorized by the COE marketing team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in developing or writing proposals to federal, state, or private funding agencies or 7 years of directly related experience
