Job Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology seeks to hire an Ophthalmic Assistant at our Shriner’s Clinic. Customer service orientation is key to this position, viewing every patient as a customer while maintaining professionalism in interactions. This position will function as a scribe for the physician, recording patient exam/procedure information as dictated by the physician in the patient record in the EMR. The Ophthalmic Assistant/Scribe will ensure all patient charts are complete and accurate, including the physician signature.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Ability to learn electronic medical record, ophthalmic diagnostics and scribing.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
One or more years in customer service and/or healthcare experience preferred.
