Position Details
Job Summary | The Operations Manager reports to the Department of Mathematics Chair and works independently within administrative guidelines to manage departmental resources and ongoing office, instructional, research, and co-curricular activities. Primary responsibilities include management of administrative operations by planning, administering, controlling and implementing budgetary and personnel activities and actions related to the department. Other key position responsibilities include:

Conditions of Employment | Regular work schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with the possibility of teleworking according to university policy and occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibility / Duty | Assistant to the Department Chair Responsible for the coordination and supervision of a variety of administrative tasks pertaining to the department. Work cooperatively with the faculty, staff and students to develop, process, and maintain departmental documents and materials. Analyze problems and provide the Chair with information, counsel, and reports of actions taken. Act as liaison between the Chair and other personnel including but not limited to those in the dean’s office, Academic Affairs, Office of Grants and Research Development (OGRD), and EWU Foundation. Initiate and complete special assignments as needed.
