SUMMARY:

The Operations Coordinator, with minimal supervision from the Operations Manager, supports the University’s mission by providing assistance, support, and expertise at the 51,517 square-foot A&M-Commerce at Dallas location.  The Operations Coordinator is efficient in assisting with support, service, and management of resources across multiple platforms to enhance a modern and creative learning environment.  In addition, the Operations Coordinator is comfortable assisting with the planning and hosting of special events, mixers, symposiums, and meetings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (15 or less):

  • Ability to work a non-typical business day/week. (Mon-Thur 2 pm-11 pm, Sat 8 am-5 pm)
  • Assist with the operation and support of classroom, lab, office, lounge, and conference room technology.
  • Provide training/demonstrations of end-user technology to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Maintain classroom/shared space arrangement, appearance, and cleanliness for various types of learning environments, assemblies, or events.
  • Assist in the coordination of space for work, classes, and events to ensure efficient use of facility and employee resources.
  • Partner with all onsite and offsite employees to ensure effective support for A&M-Commerce needs at Dallas.
  • Contribute to the effective team management of all relevant initiatives, problems, issues, and opportunities.
  • Promote safe building access practices for faculty, staff, and students, providing reminders as necessary and reporting incidents or accidents, when required, if safety rules are compromised.
  • Assist with maintenance of general supply inventory and equipment storage. Includes organizing and maintaining storage facilities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of inventory records and performing annual departmental inventory certification for submission to Property Management.
  • Supervise after-hours janitorial, maintenance, and equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  No prior experience is required.
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Excellent customer service skills.  Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to: multitask and work cooperatively with others.  Ability to promptly respond to on-site emergency calls.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to exert heavy force - carry and lift up to 60 Lbs.
