The Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality (GCPI) works with policy leaders, researchers, practitioners, advocates, and other experts to develop policies and practices to alleviate poverty and inequality and advance racial and gender equity in the United States. GCPI’s Economic Security and Opportunity Initiative (ESOI) works to alleviate poverty and inequality, advance racial and gender equity, and expand economic inclusion through research, analysis, and ambitious policy ideas.

Job Overview

The Operations & Finance Specialist helps manage the daily operation of the Economic Security and Opportunities Initiative of the Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality, primarily in the areas of operations, human resources, compliance, financial, purchasing, and support services. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform a variety of complex operations, office management, and finance duties
  • Develop and monitor contracts, revenue generating agreements, and project budgets; and handle a variety of financial data.
  • Compile reports and prepare agendas and background materials.
  • Formulate policies and guidance, develop project plans and operations guidance, and help with executive scheduling.
  • Liaise with university financial affairs, procurement, general counsel, research services, centers and institutes, and other departments.

Work Interactions

The Operations & Finance Specialist receives general supervision from the Initiative Director, and works closely with the Co-Executive Director and the communications and policy associate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of operations and finance experience

  • Ability to manage a high volume of work with efficiency
  • Self-driven work ethic and initiative and strong capacity for collaboration

Work Mode: Hybrid 3 Days. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
