JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Management and Organization Department in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA) has an open rank full-time tenure-track professor position in the area of Organizational Theory (OT). We seek to fill this position at either the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank with a candidate who has a high-quality research record. Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or be in the final stages), a proven track record in conducting high-quality scholarly research, and demonstrated teaching competence at a high level. The desired start date for the position is Fall 2024.

Job Requirement: Although we may hire at any rank, our strong preference is for candidates at the Full or Associate rank, with publications in premier journals, a high impact research program, demonstrated teaching competence at a high level, and who are able to connect with the wide array of doctoral students and faculty in our department. Regardless of rank, faculty members are expected to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage in professional service.

Our department offers two undergraduate majors (Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Management), two online masters programs (Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Strategic Management and Executive Leadership), a PhD program, core and elective courses in Smeal’s full-time MBA and DBA programs, and operates the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (which includes the Garber Venture Capital Fund).
