We seek an outstanding scholar with a track record of research in leading academic outlets. Research in values-based leadership here is broadly defined to be study of management principles and best practices where the behavior of employees and the business is based on the stated values of the organization. Values may be different for every organization but tend to revolve around the organization’s relationship with its customers, its workforce, and with society and the planet. Of special interest is scholarship on leadership focused on the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within organizations, economic and societal equity. Candidates may come from backgrounds in economics, strategy, finance, accounting, marketing, operations, management, psychology, or sociology, and use research methods that may include large archival databases, lab, field, and natural experiments. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an impactful program of research relevant to broad societal, economic, and business issues and to communicate results to policymakers and practitioners. Excellent teaching skills are a must. The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in Cornell University’s Diversity-related initiatives, including its new Center for Racial Diversity and Equitable Futures, and in the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business’s Diversity Leadership Council, and its other new initiatives.
It is expected that our faculty teach across multiple schools within the College of Business.
Candidates must have a PhD in economics, strategy, finance, accounting, marketing, operations, management, psychology, sociology, philosophy, organizational behavior or a related field by the time they start in the position.  Preferred candidates will demonstrate high standards of accomplishment in research, teaching, and service.
