Assistant or Associate Professor

 

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, is seeking a Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist for an academic faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor level (depending on qualifications and experience).  The qualified candidate must be board certified/board eligible in pediatric transplant hepatology, and eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license. 

The major criteria for appointment for clinical faculty is excellence in clinical care, scholarly activity, and service in the area the individual is expected to fulfill. The UT Health San Antonio Pediatric Liver Transplant Program is a robust program serving the local community of San Antonio as well as distant areas such as El Paso, Corpus Christi, Austin, Temple, etc.

 The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is family and team oriented.  The Liver Transplant Program consists of outstanding transplant surgeons, nurse practitioner, dietitian, social worker, transplant coordinators, etc., offering specialized care through liver transplant and pediatric hepatology outpatient clinics at University Health.  Pediatric Hepatology outreach is also provided to El Paso.  The teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students is an integral part of the position.  Weekend and night call availability are required in addition to weekdays.
