Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) seeks applications for open-rank, non-tenure-track (NTT) lecturer faculty positions in the Department of Kinesiology to serve within the sport marketing and management program and faculty group. SPH-B seeks individuals passionate about our mission to promote sport and health for all members of society through excellence in teaching and mentoring, research, and service to the university, profession, and the community. These 10‐month appointments would ideally start August 1, 2024, although an earlier or later start date is negotiable. Overview: A member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) since 1909, Indiana University prides itself in offering outstanding academics grounded in contemporary educational offerings, world class research, and vibrant campus life. The SPH-B is located on the flagship campus of Indiana University and is comprised of over 200 faculty across five departments. The Department of Kinesiology recently celebrated its 75th Anniversary and has consistently been highly ranked by the National Academy of Kinesiology. The Kinesiology faculty, (~50% NTT faculty), is a talented, productive, and collegial team, united by a shared interest in creating and translating knowledge in sport marketing and management, and human movement science and practice. With Kinesiology being one of the largest departments at Indiana University, our faculty educate, mentor, and serve ~2,000 students enrolled in our BS, MS, and PhD degree programs.

Basic Qualifications
Qualifications: Successful candidates must hold a master’s degree with industry experience, or a doctoral degree in sport marketing or management, a primary sub-discipline of kinesiology, or closely related field, with degrees earned from an accredited educational institution. A firm commitment to the role of diversity in all aspects of education and service is essential. Candidates must have teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional level. Good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and congenially within a diverse faculty are also critical for success.

Additional Qualifications
Responsibilities and Opportunity: The Department of Kinesiology at Indiana University invites applicants who are skilled and experienced in the disciplines of sport marketing and management and athletic administration for full-time NTT lecturer positions. Responsibilities include teaching courses in various aspects of sport marketing and management. NTT lecturer faculty are expected to contribute to the overall academic excellence of the department primarily through teaching (in-person and online) and secondarily through service in support of teaching. Notably, NTT lecturer faculty have an opportunity for promotion and advancement from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer to Teaching Professor. Standard teaching load is six (6) courses per year. Lecturers may receive course releases for coordination and other program administrative service. These positions are located on the campus of Indiana University, Bloomington (IUB) in Bloomington, Indiana, and successful candidates are expected to work on the IUB campus to allow full engagement with the department, school, campus, and community.
